Morton Woman Killed in Accident on Highway 84

A Morton woman was killed in a car accident on Highway 84 late Saturday night.

29-year-old Estella Honesto was driving her 1994 Chevy pickup Eastbound on US 84 one mile West of Amherst in Lamb County when DPS troopers believe she attempted to pass a vehicle.

Honesto collided head on with 44-year-old Chester Smith who was driving his tractor trailer Westbound on the highway.

The tractor trailer pushed Honesto's pick up backwards causing it to then spin out of control.

Honesto, a Morton resident, was pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers say she was not wearing her seatbelt.

Smith, the driver of the tractor trailer, received minor injuries.
