The daughter of a Lubbock police officer is in stable condition at Covenant Medical Center Monday, after a weekend car accident. This, as her father continues to recover from a motorcycle accident last month.
Chelsea Childers, 13, broke her back Saturday, after being thrown from the vehicle she was riding in. A family spokesperson says she was riding with friends out in the county when the accident happened.
Chelsea's father, Lubbock Police Corporal Scott Childers remains at University Medical Center. He was critically injured after he lost control of his motorcycle, on a trip to New Mexico last month.
Both father and daughter face a long, and expensive recovery. A fund set up in Scott Childers name will now be shared with his daughter. If you would like to give, donations can be made at WesTex Federal Credit Union.
NewsChannel 11 alerted you to a theft from that fund last week, but Lubbock Police assure us that the fund is secure, and that the credit union has a close watch on all accounts.
