Lubbock Police are investigating a shooting just after 4 p.m., at 4th and Detroit. Police say the incident occurred across from the 7-11 at that intersection.
Initial reports indicate that an 18 year-old Hispanic man is in satisfactory condition with a gunshot wound to the head.
University Medical Center Vice President Greg Bruce tells NewsChannel 11 that the victim was very lucky.
Witnesses at the scene took down the license plate of the suspect vehicle involved in the shooting. Police tracked that license plate to a house. A person of interest is now in custody for questioning. Officers recovered a weapon inside the house.
