Arrest Made in Tuesday's Shooting in North Lubbock

Lubbock Police say David Valdez is behind bars in connection with a shooting in North Lubbock. Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, an eighteen-year-old man was shot in the head at 4th and Detroit and crawled to the 7-11 across the street for help. The teen is in satisfactory condition at UMC.

Police arrested Valdez in the 22 hundred block of Urbana after a police chase. Witnesses reported the suspects were headed in that direction and police set up road blocks to catch the suspects. The suspects threw out the gun near the area and an officer later recovered the 9 millimeter.

Lubbock Police are crediting witnesses with leading them to a shooting suspect.  Valdez is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful carrying a weapon. He also had warrants out for his arrest.
