Alleged Shoplifter Breaks Out of Lubbock Police Car

Lubbock police chased down a shoplifting suspect after he kicked out a police car window.

Police say the man entered the Town and Country at 82nd and I-27, just before 1 a.m. Friday, and helped himself to four quarts of oil. Officers arrested him for theft, but before they could take him to jail, the suspect kicked out a window in the police cruiser and made a run for it. Officers tackled him, strapped him down and called for the paddy wagon.

Jeffery David Allison, 33 of Lubbock, is now in the Lubbock County Jail.  He faces two charges of evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft, and criminal mischief.
