Change of Venue For Levelland Volleyball Game

Three days after a fatal automobile accident, the Levelland girl's volleyball team is gearing up for a district match against Lubbock Cooper, but there has been a change of venue.

The district match up was originally scheduled to be played Saturday at Lubbock Cooper, but out of courtesy for the Levelland girls in the wake of their bus accident, the Lubbock Cooper team offered to move the game to Levelland.

"I definitely wouldn't want to be in their position right now so I just felt that on our part instead of having to get those kids back on a bus that we would travel for them," said Tami Gunset, Lubbock Cooper girl's volleyball coach.

Coach Gunset added that her players and their parents all support going to Levelland for their district match up.

And just to clarify, Thursday night we reported the game was Friday. Again, it's Saturday in Levelland. The JV girls take the court at 1 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
