Sausage lovers linked together to indulge this weekend.
Thousands of people got their fill of sausage at the 38th Annual Slaton Saint Joseph German Sausage Festival Sunday afternoon.
This year 8,500 pounds of sausage was served up for a good cause.
"All the proceeds go to Saint Joseph's school. That takes care of teacher's salary and any other expenses we have," says Kristine Parker, a volunteer.
The sausage festival started in 1971 with a 200-year-old Austrian sausage recipe.
38 years later they are still cooking that same recipe.
