Dangerous Dogs Euthanized

The end has come for the two dogs involved in last month's attack on an elderly man. The pit bulls were put down Monday afternoon.

The victim, William Cox, was hospitalized following the attack. He suffered a broken arm and puncture wounds. His rat terrier did not survive.

The pit bulls were scheduled to be euthanized, following a dangerous dog hearing. Their owner did not appeal the ruling.

This attack came just thirty days after a new state law went into effect, saying the owners of dangerous dogs can face jail-time. If charges are filed, it will be the first case of its kind here in Lubbock.
