Home Invasion Victim in Critical Condition

Lubbock Police say the victim in a recent home invasion remains in critical condition with a head injury.

Police found Monty Dale Edler, 40, lying outside the Westford Apartments last Thursday morning. He had apparently been hit with a bottle. His friend was located nearby, also with similar injuries. The second man has since been treated and released.

The men were reportedly beaten after someone kicked in the door of their apartment in the 5400 block of 40th Street.

Less than 24 hours later, there was another home invasion at The Park apartments in the 5700 block of 50th Street. The suspects bound the two victims with duct tape, beat them and robbed them.

In both cases the suspects were described as four black men, but police do not know yet if they are directly related.
