Halloween can be a fun time for kids and adults, but it can also raise the stress level for parents. That's why I would like to personally thank the Lubbock Police Department for enforcing Project Lights Out. It's a program to protect our kids from sexual predators on Halloween.
This Wednesday night, Lubbock police officers will be combing neighborhoods ensuring convicted sex offenders do not open their doors to trick-or-treaters, and making sure they keep their lights off while those kids are roaming the neighborhood.
Consider this, I went to the city of Lubbock Police Department website and found out there are 10 registered sex offenders living in my zip code. I, for one, am glad to know that the Lubbock Police Department has made the rules clear and is keeping tabs on these predators come trick-or-treat time. Having that peace of mind definitely brings the stress level down during Halloween.

Have a safe and stress-free Halloween.
