Three Drivers Indicted For Alcohol Related Crashes

Drinking and driving could lead to jail time for three Lubbock drivers.

Tuesday afternoon, a Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted Hardy Ware on one count of intoxication manslaughter for a July 3rd crash. Troopers say the 19-year-old was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol when he collided with a truck near Idalou. Ware's passenger, 23-year-old Monica Martinez was killed.

The same Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted Joseph Jeffrey for intoxication assault. Police say he was drunk and driving the wrong way when he hit a truck and a utility pole on North Loop 289 on September 23rd. The driver of the truck suffered critical injuries in the crash.

Melissa Belyeu also stands indicted on one count of intoxication assault. Police believe the 26-year-old was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs when she lost control of her vehicle near Quaker and Loop 289 on September 16th. Her husband and a friend were injured in the crash.
