Lubbock Driver Injured in Rollover Collision with Traffic Light

A 25 year-old man is recovering following an accident in north Lubbock. Police say Roberto Ysabel Gaona was speeding when he drove his jeep into a traffic signal around 3:00 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Clovis Road and North Loop 289.

The vehicle flipped over and landed upside down in the median. Firefighters used the jaws of life to free Gaona from the vehicle. EMS took him to UMC with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police also say Gaona did not have a valid driver license.
