The Affect of Daylight Saving Time on Your Body Clock
What does it do to our bodies to mess with father time?
Researchers in Germany studied the effect of Daylight Saving Time on circadian rhythm and found our bodies will thank us when we turn the clocks back this Sunday.
The study included 55,000 adults who were not working and found that with or without an alarm clock, our bodies respond to the timing of dawn during the winter months, but not during the spring or summer.
They say that explains why it takes a few days to adjust our sleep cycle after we turn the clocks back, but it takes up to 2 weeks to adjust in the spring.
