Lubbock Man Arrested Following Overnight Police Chase

NewsChannel 11 has learned that a man who led police in an overnight police chase was involved in a similar chase last summer.

Zachariah Efrain Castro, 20, found himself in the back of a Lubbock Police care just after 11:00 p.m. Sunday night. Police say they tried to pull him over for a traffic violation, but he would not stop.

Castro finally stopped at 26th and Avenue L, where he ran into a house. Police arrested him minutes later, and now he faces two counts of evading arrest, and speeding.

NewsChannel 11 checked our archives, and found a similar arrest on July 8, 2006. In that case, a woman accused Castro of stealing her car. When police spotted the vehicle, Castro fled and police gave chase. It ended shortly after Castro crashed the car. Police arrested him after he made another getaway attempt on foot.
