Popular Lubbock Bar In Danger of Losing Liquor License

A Lubbock hot spot is in jeopardy of losing its liquor license.

Jake's Sports Cafe received three violations this summer - including sale to a minor, sale to an intoxicated person and permitting a minor to have an alcoholic beverage.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission presented their case before a judge last month, and right now the bar is awaiting a judge's decision.

"Our penalty ranges go from suspension or cancellation or if there's a suspension there's a possibly civil pentality enlue of suspension," said Sgt. Michael Lockhart of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. "So in other words, you pay a fine rather than be closed for what ever number of days."

Coming up tonight at six, Newschannel 11 speaks with the owners of Jake's Sport Cafe. And he says in each violation they did nothing wrong.
