Sunday is Veterans Day and local students are already honoring local men and women who have served in our nation's military.
Cavazos Middle School students chanted "U-S-A" during a Veterans Day assembly Friday afternoon.
Kelley Rogers, a Vietnam veteran, believes programs like these are important for all ages.
"The importance of each generation developing patriotism and honoring and respecting the military people that serve each generation," Rogers said.
The students listened to stories from veterans and the armed drill team performed.
