A candlelight ceremony honored the memory of 11 area teens killed in traffic accidents in 2006.
Each of the victims received special recognition at the memorial hosted by the Teen Coalition Against Drunk Driving. The group was formed at the end of 2006 to educate teens about the dangers of driving.
"Everyone needs to take it slow and easy when they get behind the wheel and beware of those around you," says Heath Heinrich, senior at Lubbock Cooper High School.
The leading cause of deaths for teenagers aged 16 to 19 is motor vehicle accidents, according to the Advocacy Group Partners for Safe Teen Driving.
