Icy roads played a factor in several wrecks that happened early Saturday morning.
An ambulance rushed a woman to the hospital around midnight after she was thrown from her truck. Witnesses say the truck was traveling Southbound on I-27 near exit nine when it hit an icy patch causing it to roll.
Lubbock Police were unable to provide further information Saturday concerning the wreck.
And witnesses say the people driving a blue Mustang also encountered an icy patch while driving Northbound on East Loop 289 around 1:30 Saturday morning. While they were waiting for police to arrive, witnesses say a white truck came up and also hit a patch of ice causing the truck to ram into the Mustang.
One witness was forced to jump the guard rail to avoid being hit. Lubbock Police were unable to provide any further information concerning this accident either.
