Lubbock Jailors Investigated for Inmate Release

Three jailors are in trouble for the mistaken release of an Lubbock County inmate.

Lubbock Sheriff David Gutierrez says a floor officer, a release clerk and a corporal all played a role in the errors that led to the release of Joseph Luis Gonzales. A massive search led to his re-arrest in Lubbock, two days later.

Gutierrez says their punishment will be examined further on Wednesday. All three could face termination.
