Central Lubbock Traffic Detoured by Water Main Break - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Eastbound traffic near the intersection of 34th Street and Avenue W will be temporarily detoured due to a water main break.  The water main has been repaired.  Street Department crews are working to make the repairs to the street and expect to finish by Wednesday, November 28th. 

During the repairs, eastbound 34th Street traffic will be detoured onto 35th Street between Avenue X and Avenue U, however drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. 

Fluctuating temperatures and the age of the pipe are believed to be the cause of the break.
