Amit Bushan is going to Washington. He is the sixth grader who launched the smoking issue last year when he organized hundreds of area kids in a campaign called S.T.I.R. to stop tobacco in restaurants, and from that the Smokeless Lubbock Coalition was born.

Bushan, who has asthma, will be awarded the President's Environmental Youth Award at a ceremony in Washington next week.
