Up to 100 Lubbock I.S.D. students are now eligible for scholarships they were previously denied.
"Tthis is effecting students across the state of Texas," said Nancy Neal, of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. "It's just that we only heard from one district, LISD."
LISD contacted the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board when it realized that students who qualified to graduate early were not receiving certain scholarships because of a technicality concerning the exact date of graduation.
The board has since changed the rules for eligibility, expanding the qualifications for students across the state.
