You've heard about Race for the Cure and other events to raise money for cancer research but one man is taking his own race for the cure cross country.
Steffen Lian is a 25-year-old from Norway. We found him walking along Highway 84 near Slaton Thursday afternoon. He's been walking for 20-days already. He started his trip in San Diego and will end it in Savannah, Georgia sometime in January.
Steffen lost his little brother to cancer and chose America for his journey to raise awareness. Steffen says, "The more awareness we get, the more money we raise. More treatment and the more medication, means better treatment for cancer."
Steffen is walking for the Cancer Association of Norway. He walks thirty-miles a day, but he's finding sometimes he needs more than money.
Steffen says, "If you see me along the road, I love water, so if you want to stop and give me a can of water, it would be much appreciated."
