Heartfelt Homecoming for Lubbock Soldier

Posted:

Army Sergeant Tim Loveland arrived home around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. It was a moment his family and friends say they've dreamed about for months.

Loveland served in Iraq for a little more than a year in the Third Brigade Second Infantry Division. It was his second tour of duty in Iraq.

"I didn't want to be 80-years-old sitting on my couch thinking I could have done something more, than what I did. I'll take 4 years out, go do something good, then come back finish school," said Loveland.

Sgt. Loveland will spend the holidays with his family and then return to Washington, D.C. at the beginning of January.
