You soon will be able to check out a book on tape from a Lubbock library, with just the click of your mouse.
Thursday the city council voted unanimously to set up a digital audio books program through the Lubbock Public Library web site.
"This is a way for people to be in their home, use their home computer and two o'clock in the morning you can down load one of the audio books and listen to it in the morning," Jane Clausen, the Director of Lubbock's Public Library said.
Library cardholders can download audio books to a PC, MP3 player or PDA for a certain amount of time.
The library hopes to have 300 books on their website by this spring. This new service is free to library members.
