Fatal Car Accident In South Lubbock County - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The accident happened around 11:30 Saturday morning on Woodrow Road, just off University. 

DPS Troopers say 24-year-old David Yanez was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid when he lost control of the vehicle. When he attempted to regain control he overcorrected causing the vehicle to roll several times.

Yanez died at the scene. His passenger's 21-year-old Anthony Alvorado of Lubbock, 20-year- old Amber Saenez of Lubbock and a 4-year-old boy survived and were rushed to UMC.

DPS says Anthony Alverado called 911 and said they had been drinking up to an hour before the accident and they were speeding.

The three survivors are in satisfactory condition at UMC and are expected to be released Saturday evening.
