Ransom Canyon Party House Burns Down

The party house at Ransom Canyon burned to the ground Monday.

When NewsChannel 11 arrived, the building was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters say, because of the building's location, the blaze was difficult to fight.

"It was very difficult because of the location," said Rand McPherson, Ransom Canyon Fire Chief. "Just getting the trucks into there, we had to run a lot of hose, also getting up into the roof and the walls, we didn't have an aerial way to fight it from the inside so we had to let it fall down on itself."

Ransom Canyon has a new party house, so there were no holiday parties planned at the building that caught fire.

Right now, investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
