Car Hits Light Pole, Alcohol Suspected

Lubbock Police now say alcohol was a factor in an overnight accident that sent a Lubbock woman to the hospital.

Police say Sheli Schmidt, 39, had been drinking before she struck a light pole on 50th Street near Quaker around 1:35 a.m. Friday.

EMS took Schmidt to the hospital with moderate injuries.
