Solider Home for Christmas

One area soldier has returned home, just in time for Christmas.

"It's great. I'm so happy to be here. I'm glad I get to see my family for Christmas and I just can't wait," said Army National Guard member William Franklin.

Franklin found out two days ago that he was heading home from Iraq to spend Christmas with his family. He arrived in Lubbock this afternoon, following a brief weather delay.

Naturally, his wife Monica was especially happy to see him. They were only married five days when he reported for his second tour.

Franklin will be home for 15 days before heading back to Iraq.
