Christmas will be a little brighter for some South Plains Children. Monday, the Salvation Army of Lubbock distributed gifts through its Angel Tree program. Parents lined up and expressed their appreciation.
Linda Vargas said, "My daughter wanted a bike, and I'm a single mom and I only work about 30 hours a week and I'm not able to give her what she wants and to know that the community comes together and is able to give, that's just great."
Gifts can be picked up all this week at the South Plains Fairgrounds, however this is only for families already registered with the Angel Tree program.
