Lubbock Pedestrian Injured, Allegedly During Police Chase

A Lubbock man is in custody Friday following a slow speed chase that apparently injured a pedestrian.

Details about this story are still unclear, but here is what NewsChannel 11 has learned so far.

Just after 2:00 a.m., a 21 year-old man was struck by a car on Texas Avenue. It happened right in front of Shooters Shot Bar. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

At the same time, Lubbock Police were already searching for a man accused of criminal mischief. At first, he refused to pull over, driving around downtown slowly.

Later, authorities began to suspect that this suspect is the same man responsible for hitting the pedestrian.

NewsChannel 11 will bring you the latest, as it becomes available.
