Lubbock has a 101-year-old resident. So how does she feel about it?
"I feel like a million dollars," says Willie Hinger.
Hinger turned 101 Sunday.
Born in 1906, Willie has lived through the Great Depression, both World Wars and when she was born, Teddy Roosevelt was the president of the United States.
She married in 1936 and spent most of her life living in Portales, New Mexico where she was a registered nurse. But she got her education here in Lubbock at the West Texas Hospital.
She's survived breast cancer twice and uterine cancer once. And she say's the secret to her long life was dancing and spending 49 summers in a row in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
This Thursday Willie will be featured on the Today show during Willard Scott's 100 plus birthday announcements.
