Lubbock resembled a ghost town with everything closed for Christmas. However, there were a few places around town that opened up their doors Christmas day so people could shop, eat, or relax.
"We were wrapping presents until Christmas Eve yesterday. It was really stressful, so it's nice to come in and eat when someone else cooks," said Stephanie Ferran, a Furr's diner.
Furr's cafeteria closed at 6 p.m., but 24-hour stores like CVS Pharmacy at 34th and Slide, and Walgreens at 50th and Slide will remain open the rest of the day.
