Chamber Wants Members Input on Proposed Bonds

The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is asking for just a few minutes of its members' time.

The Chamber wants input from members concerning millions of dollars of proposed bond projects. Chamber members have until next Friday to complete the online survey which asks for opinions on funding for street improvements, the soccer field construction projects and numerous building improvements.

Just two weeks ago, the city council voted unanimously to call for a may bond election. In all, it would be $104 million worth of projects.

If approved someone who owns a $100,000 house could expect a tax increase of $6.40 a month or about $77 a year.

Chamber of Commerce President, Eddie McBride, says results from the survey will help the Chamber better represent the voice of the Lubbock business community to city hall.

Chamber members should have received an e-mail with a link to the survey. If you did not, contact the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
