The book offers a few simple recommendations for women such as: cut back on trans-fats and red meat, drink whole milk and eat full fat yogurt instead of skim or low fat dairy products, skip sugared sodas and take a multi-vitamin.
"Consuming a pre-natal multi-vitamin that not only prevents certain congenital defects of the central nervous system, but also it actually improves ovulation and improves the chances of getting pregnant." says Dr. Jorge Chavarro, author of The Fertility Diet. While the book is geared towards women, Dr. Chavarro says men can benefit from the advice as well. He recommends for dads-to-be to take a multi-vitamin that has zinc and folic acid
