A stand-off in Idalou that lasted more than four hours is over. Swat Team members have taken a man in his 50's into custody after he held them at bay with a gun inside his home. The man's wife called 9-1-1 before 5:00 am this morning describing her husband as drunk. The woman said she was hiding in a closet with her daughter and her husband had a loaded handgun. Police later confirmed the man had two loaded handguns and had fired at least one of them in the house. Swat officers surrounded the house around 5:00. At the time, the man refused to communicate with negotiators.
Nearby homes were evacuated and the street was blocked as a safety precaution for the small town of just Northeast of Lubbock.
Negotiators were eventually able to talk to the man. Shortly before 9:00 am, two females, believed to be the wife and daughter, came out of the house. The man followed shortly after and gave up peacefully. More on NewsChannel 11 at Noon.
