LPD Beefing Up Patrol for New Year's Eve

New Year's is only three days away, and the Lubbock Police Department wants you to be safe.

"Either have a designated driver, call a cab or whatever; but don't mix driving with any amount of drinking and you'll be safe," said Lt. Greg Stevens, Lubbock Police Department.

Lubbock police say to crack down on those who choose to drink and drive, they're adding more manpower to the streets.

"Their sole responsibility is to drive throughout the city and look for, stop, and apprehend those that have had too much to drink on the roads of Lubbock," said Lt. Stevens.

Stevens wants to stress to people to plan ahead and designate a driver before heading out to those New Year's parties.
