Bob Knight Cancels Book Signing

Texas Tech Basketball Coach Bob Knight has canceled his appearance at a Fort Worth library benefit, co-sponsored by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The newspaper on April 12th ran a front page article examining Bob Knight's older son's business practices.

The article cited records showing Tim Knight, who's an assistant athletic director at Tech, had shipped school merchandise to an Indianapolis store operated by his mother without Texas Tech University receiving payment. Star-Telegram Books Editor Jeff Guinn says he was notified by Knight's publisher that the coach didn't like the story in the Star-Telegram.

The coach and author of "Knight: My Story" was scheduled to be one of six writers at the May 1st book signing luncheon. Proceeds will benefit the Fort Worth Public Library.
