An Amarillo woman is now charged with intoxicated manslaughter for a deadly accident on the South Plains.
Those charges were filed against Olga Mejia Wednesday. Police say the 24-year-old had a blood alcohol level of .15 on September 3, 2007 when she tried to pass an 18-wheeler on I-27 just south of Abernathy. She clipped the front of the semi and rolled her SUV.
Mejia's passenger, 21-year-old Manuel Vasquez of Plainview, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
