Lubbock Woman Sentenced for Stealing Mail

A Lubbock woman is headed to prison for stealing mail. Friday morning, Judge Sam Cummings sentenced Lauren Garza to six months in federal prison for possession of stolen mail.

In August 2007, Garza was indicted for stealing mail out of mailboxes around town.   Some of the mail contained checks for thousands of dollars.

Garza is also facing five other charges including forgery of a financial institution and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
