Two Iraan Teens Receive Deferred Adjudication Probation in Deer Beatings

Two Iraan teens accused of beating two deer to death with baseball bats have received five months deferred adjudication probation.

Iraan is about 220 miles South of Lubbock.

Call Cade pleaded no contest and Zac Owen pleaded guilty to hunting with illegal means and methods, a Class C misdemeanor, the Odessa American reported in Saturday's edition.

Both teens are 17-years-old.

Cade was a standout on the Iraan football team this season. NewsChannel 11 followed Cade and his team all the way to the Class 1-A 2 semifinals where they fell to Nazareth.

Cade and Owen were ordered to pay a $500 court fee. They must also receive counseling.

The names and punishment of two others involved in the incident were withheld because they are minors.
