LEDA Says Lubbock Economy Is Strong - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Despite scares nationwide, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance says overall Lubbock's economy is strong, and experiencing a steady rate of growth. 

During a news conference Tuesday, LEDA reported Lubbock's consumer price index and economic index. They say the job market, lodging, and overall construction went up last year. The report also indicates that the job market is excellent, though the housing market is down in residential areas; but overall construction's excellent.

According to the report, Lubbock had the second lowest unemployment rate in Texas, at 3.5 percent.
