Street Renaming Task Force To Develop Criteria - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The way streets are renamed in Lubbock could soon change.

The Street Renaming Task Force had it's first meeting Tuesday. The job of the task force is to come up with a set of criteria for renaming Lubbock streets.

Right now there is no criteria in place.

Task force Chairperson Martha York says, "We have asked the staff for some research such as criteria from other cities that are similar to Lubbock and similar in area."

Before any guidelines can be put in place, all recommendations must be approved by the Lubbock City Council.
