I am proud to announce my intention to run for re-election as Lubbock County Constable for precinct 1. A Constable has two primary duties: to serve civil papers, and to bailiff and provide security for the justice of the peace courts.

2008 is a critical year for the Justice of the Peace courts. The civil jurisdiction recently doubled to $10,000, and the workload will double or perhaps triple this year. This means more court hearings, more court papers, and more work for what was already one of the busiest courts in Lubbock County. It is important during this transition that we keep professional, experienced, and a qualified Constable.

Precinct 1 is the southwest quadrant of Lubbock County, and we have the highest volume of justice court civil cases. My workday often begins before sunrise, and many days I am still working when the sun goes down.

My experience makes me the best candidate for the job. I have worked in Lubbock county law enforcement for 25 years. I have a solid work record, and I am known for my professional conduct. I want to continue to represent the citizens of precinct one with integrity and high ethical standards. I have an excellent working relationship with the judge for precinct 1, Judge Jim Hansen, and the court staff. In fact, I work well with all county departments.

I am proud of the strong work ethic and professional relationships I have developed during my time as Constable. I would appreciate your support and your vote.
