January is National Blood Donor month and United Blood Services is hoping you will answer the call, especially since there is a severe shortage of Type-O and Type-A blood.  All blood types are needed though.

Les Long of the United Blood Services said, "We're in a situation again where we're not being able to fill all the hospital orders.  We've been very lucky here for a while, being able to actually take care of orders.  It's been quite some time since we've been on critical appeal.  For a lot of folks out there who are waiting to hear that we really need them, now is the time."

UBS is at 48th and University.  Walk-ins are welcome or you can call 741-1752 to schedule an appointment
