Ricky Williams Signs With Saints as Free Agent

The New Orleans Saints latest Ricky Williams hit the field on Friday. The new Williams is the running back from Texas Tech, not the one that the Dolphins gave up an entire draft to get. The latest Williams signed with the Saints as a free agent.

The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings had also talked to him. Coach Jim Haslett says that the new Williams has a chance to make the team. New Orleans needs a backup for running back Deuce McAllister.

The new Williams is wearing #42. He wanted nothing to do with the #34, which the first Ricky Williams wore with the Saints. He wants to make people forget his predecessor. He also says being the other Ricky Williams isn't easy.
