According to a Lubbock Chamber of Commerce survey, more residents are concerned about the condition of Lubbock streets, not building new soccer fields.
Support for new youth soccer fields only garnered 35 percent. Members seem very concerned about the 11 million dollar price tag. However, members would support a bond to repair Lubbock streets.
Eight of the survey projects returned support of 50 percent or more. Chamber president, Eddie McBride, presented the survey results to the City Council Thursday, the same day Council heard a presentation on a possible 104-million dollar bond. The bond includes streets and parks.
The Council must decide something by next month, in order to have an election in May. Citizens are invited to the next Council meeting to hear more about the bond proposal. That will be Thursday, January 24th at City Hall, at 7:00 p.m.
