Over three million young adults report using over-the-counter cough and cold medicine to get high.
That's according to a new government survey that included nearly 45,000 Americans between 12 and 25 years old. Cold and cough medicines are targeted because they contain a certain ingredient that, when taken in excess, can trigger hallucinations.
So what kind of person is most likely to abuse this? The report found the highest usage among young white girls.
