Lubbock Mayor to Host Roundtable Meetings

Mayor David A. Miller is hosting two citizen round table meetings in January.

"The meetings will focus on collaborations and partnerships that work to strengthen our city," said Mayor Miller.

City, county and state affairs are the topic of the first meeting.

Round Table Meeting

Thursday, January 17 - - 6:00 p.m.

Monterey High School
3211 47th Street

Special Guests:

  • Senator Robert Duncan
  • Judge Tom Head
  • Patti Jones, Lubbock Co. Commissioner
  • Todd Klein, Lubbock City Councilman

Higher education opportunities are the topic of the second meeting.

Tuesday, January 22 - 6:00 p.m.

Mae Simmons Community Center
2004 Oak Avenue

Special Guests:

  • Kent Hance, Texas Tech Chancellor 
  • Ken Jones, Lubbock Christian University President
  • Kelvin Sharp, South Plains College President  
  • David, L. Bishop, Wayland Baptist President
  • Floyd Price, Lubbock City Councilman

Representatives from the City police, fire, codes, streets and park departments also will be available to answer questions from citizens.
