MATERIALS CURRENTLY ACCEPTED AT DROP-OFF CENTERS:

• Clear and colored glass
• #1 and #2 plastic
• Aluminum and beverage cans
• Tin food cans
• Corrugated cardboard
• Newspaper
• Computer paper (greenbar or shredded)
• White & pastel copy or ledger paper
• Yard waste (grass clippings, tree trimmings, bushes, etc.)
• Old appliances, metal and white goods
• Used motor oil, antifreeze, and filters
• Large bulky items that will not fit in your residential dumpster (couches, mattresses, stoves, etc.)

HOW TO PREPARE ACCEPTED ITEMS:
(Place items in appropriate dumpster.)

Clear & Colored Glass:

• Remove caps & Rinse

Beverage Aluminum Cans:

• No foil wrap, tin pie pans or other aluminum items
  Rinse & crush

Steel/Tin Food & Beverage Cans:

• Remove lids & easily removed labels, & Rinse

PET #1 Clear & Tinted Plastic Bottles & Jugs, Soft drink, Water & Beverage bottles

HDPE #2 Opaque Natural Plastic Bottles & Jugs:
Milk, Water, & other Beverage bottles & jugs

HDPE #2 Colored Plastic Bottles & Jugs:

• Detergent jugs, bleach jugs
• No motor oil containers
• No margarine or other tub containers

All plastic containers - Remove caps, lids, and easily removed labels.  Rinse, and flatten container.

Computer Paper, & White & Pastel Office Paper:
Dry & unsoiled
No florescent or cardstock papers

Newspaper:
Dry & unsoiled 
No slick ads  

Corrugated Cardboard Boxes: 
Dry, unsoiled and flattened
No cereal or dinner pasteboard boxes

Used Motor Oil and Filters
Pour used motor oil in Igloo and place filter in the barrel.

Old appliances, metal and white goods

Branches and yard trimmings

AVAILABLE AT RECYCLING CENTERS:
Free Mulch for residential use only. Please bring your own shovel and containers for these materials.

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

• Each year, the Solid Waste Department conducts a Christmas Tree Recycling Program. All residents are encouraged to take Christmas trees to any of the 3 drop-off sites throughout the city. This program is an excellent way to provide a method for residents to recycle their Christmas trees. The Christmas trees collected are ground into mulch and redistributed to local residents at the Recycling Drop-off Centers.

USED OIL AND USED OIL FILTER RECYCLING

• Used oil and oil filters are accepted for recycling at the following locations:
  
• Southside Recycling Center - 1631-84th Street
• Northside Recycling Center - 208 Municipal Drive
• Elmwood Recycling Center - 2002 Elmwood
